A Model and other stories by Anais Nin

Um. Wow.

I've never read serious erotica before, and something tells me this was a damn good place to start. Most of these seven stories are told from the point of view of women, or focus mainly on the woman's experience, although there's one - The Woman on the Dunes - told from a man's point of view. Oddly enough that one was my favourite, possibly because it was the first in the book, or because for the most part it's pretty simple (although there's nothing simple at all about the flashback at the end). There's one lesbian story too, but it was a bit far-fetched and not as erotic as some others that I've happened across in my wanderings.

I'm not going to go into gory details. Suffice to say, this is not the kind of stuff you would read on the train. Or if you're feeling a little squeamish. It's not graphic as such, just very, very matter-of-fact... and loving it. Yeah. Overall, it's fun :)
