Friday afternoon I walked up to the university library, found the December 17 issue and confirmed that my letter was indeed in the print edition, too. I took a photocopy. Since then I've also found my own copy of my original letter and note that it's been less abbreviated in publication than I initially thought. lorne's boss has kindly given me his copy of the December 17 issue, so I can preserve it forever in its original form. Yay Mr Hughes!
I hope my £25 hasn't been lost in the holiday mail.
