Familiar Escape by Caroline Burnes

This is, quite literally, a Mills and Boon - one of the Intrigue series, which usually translates roughly to "beautiful hostage falls in love with man on the run and protects him/helps him clear his name". This one is even worse than usual because it's partially narrated by a cat named Familiar (get it?). To be precise, Familiar is a cat detective. His character is clearly written by someone who doesn't know a lot about cats.

Finishing this book has made me feel ill. I must purify myself.
